As the year and decade wrap up, it felt like the perfect time to reflect on 2019’s journey. What a crazy rollercoaster ride you get to take as an entrepreneur. As the founder and CEO of Trvl Porter, I’ve learned to embrace this ride wholeheartedly. It almost never feels like you can be prepared for low moments and when that rare unbelievable high moment hits, celebration is key.

When building a startup at times the struggle is all too real, however the wins are certainly enough to keep me chasing this dream of transforming the way the world travels. Plus, I couldn’t be more excited that I get to go on this journey with fiancé! Such a special moment being proposed to by my best friend.

For anyone considering if they should pursue their ‘big dream’ in 2020, I say go for it! There could never be a better time to be an entrepreneur, especially as a woman. If you’re wondering how to get started I have 3 recommendations.

Advice from a Startup Founder

  1. Read The Lean Startup. This book helped me to validate my idea, build an MVP and then the platform which is now Trvl Porter. I saved an extreme amount of money and was able to bootstrap my startup.

  2. Make a vision board and manifest that shit! There are things on my vision board that I thought were insane, but guess what!? They. Are. Happening.

  3. Create your big picture plan with the help of the Conquer Your Year planner on Amazon. This is a great resource I recommend to all my entrepreneurial friends. It helps you break down your big goals into actionable steps.
