Best places to snap your OOTD 

  1. Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove: A must visit and a great opportunity to snap a pic of your OOTD. The Monarch Butterfly Grove is a fun 45-minute walk where you can experience butterflies as you explore. Make sure to check the website beforehand in case you need to make a reservation and also to make sure that it’s butterfly season during your visit.

  2. Spyglass Park: With exciting tide pools to explore, access to the beach and a picturesque park, Spyglass Park spans about 4 acres and is the perfect place to spend the day and enjoy a picnic in your chic outfit.

  3. Pismo City Beach: This is the main stretch of beach in Pismo where you can shop at quaint little boutiques and try new restaurants on the way! A scenic area where there is so much to explore and enjoy and of course take a picture (or two) in your outfit.

Where to eat

  1. Ventana Grill: From entrees like Halibut ceviche and seafood penne pasta, enjoy your delicious dinner with a magnificent view of the ocean. Ventana Grill is on a coastal bluff that offers Latin-inspired cuisine for their guests. This is a must if you have time for a sit down meal on your trip!

  2. Zorro’s Cafe & Cantina: There’s a reason why there’s always a wait at this cafe. Not only are the happy hours here great but the cafe is dog-friendly complete with a doggie menu for your pup! You will also love the ambiance and the delicious Mexican offering on their menu.

  3. Cracked Crab: If you’re a lover of all things seafood, you are going to enjoy this restaurant. Cracked Crab has extremely fresh food sourced by local farmers, butchers and bakers that makes the menu look amazing. If you’re not super big on seafood, don’t worry, there is something on the menu for everyone.

What to do

  1. Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards: A gorgeous picnic area where you can bring your own food and setup for the rest of your afternoon. As a bonus, you could see a ton of peacocks and can even feed them if you like! Doesn’t that sound like an eventful day?

  2. Bob Jones Trail: Grab your bikes and take a relaxing bike ride on the beach while visiting Bob Jones Trailed. After your little excursion, bring out your picnic blanket and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset. 

    *You can rent bikes at Avila Hot Springs, the Hot Springs itself is closed because of Covid, but the bike rental is open and it is right next to where the Bob Jones Train starts. 

  3. Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort and Spa: If you’re looking for a soothing massage, you can get the best of the best here! With the option to bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic on a beautiful grass area in front, you’re in for a day of rest and relaxation. You also get your own private hot springs outdoor tub before the massage!

  4. Offshore Sea Caves: If you’re more of a water body, you have the opportunity to rent kayaks and explore the sea caves here. Whatever you choose, this epic spot will be sure to be an adventurous one.

    Where to stay

  1. Kon Tiki Inn: Imagine miles and miles of ocean views right when you wake up and access to the gorgeous beach at any time of the day for your daily run or a mid-day picnic. Kon Tiki Inn is great for families, couples and even if you want to have a vacation on your own!

  2. The Inn at the Pier: The name’s no lie: at the foot of the pier, footsteps from the beach. Quintessential coastal California design, done in craftsman style. They have more fun, and just may eat better too. Dine at Blonde, with its stellar locally inspired cuisine on the menu. 

  3. The Inn at the Cove: Caves, wineries, swimming, horseback riding all so close! Spectacular view from the private balconies. Enjoy the oceanfront pool and hot tub with a glass of vino at sunset.


Big SUR

Best places to snap your OOTD 

  1. Point Lobos: This destination has so much beauty that not only will you want to capture your memories on your camera but you will want to spend an entire day exploring the park. We recommend heading there early in the morning and staying until sunset. Might even be a great idea to pack your own picnic for lunch!

  2. Point Sur Lightstation: Sitting high at 361 feet on a volcanic rock, The Point Sur Lightstation is an epic landmark in Big Sur and where the famous stretch of the Big Sur begins. Your OOTD will definitely be a magnificent one.

  3. Ragged Point: Another gorgeous spot to relax and of course snap a pic of your outfit, Ragged Point will definitely leave you in awe with it’s amazing views. Make sure to time it right because the lighting might not always be in your favor.

Where to eat

  1. Nepenthe: Nepenthe has been around since the 1940s and is known to have hosted many famous writers, poets and artists over the years. The delicious Ambrosia Burger will definitely not disappoint and compliments well with a glass of wine. You’re sure to fall in love with the restaurant and the stunning view of the pacific ocean.

  2. Big Sur River Inn and Restaurant: For a laid back, casual meal in an Adirondack chair while dipping your toes in the river, this is a fun experience. Order at the restaurant and they deliver your meal in a small cooler, that you can bring down to the river to enjoy. 

  3. Big Sur Bakery: After a day of exploring and hiking, visit Big Sur Bakery for comfort food and relaxing ambiance to enjoy the rest of your night. With wood-fire pizza and yummy desserts, you can’t go wrong with ending your day at this little bakery.

What to do

  1. Bixby Bridge: Known to be one of the most photographed bridges in California, Bixby Bridge is definitely a sight to see and one to visit during your trip.

  2. Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park: Home to 300-foot redwoods that are more than 2,500 years old, Julia Pfieffer Burns State Park will leave you in awe with the gorgeous McWay Falls which is the main attraction of the park. Enjoy a relaxing day outdoors in nature with a little picnic or reading your favorite book!

  3. Ewoldsen Trail: A scenic hike to take advantage of during your visit, Ewoldsen trail has ocean and canyon views, lush landscapes and will get your heart pounding with the elevation as you explore. A great way to exercise and enjoy the area, Ewoldsen will take up most of your day, so be prepared with some snacks and water to enjoy on your breaks.
